The Courier

Although written first, The Courier is the third book of a trilogy, each focussing on one major event in the lives and careers of two detectives, Inspector Ray Massey and Sergeant Chris Turner.
In their quest to solve what originally appears to be a mundane case of misplaced baggage involving an innocent student, detectives Massey and Turner are drawn into a complex web of deceit. The action takes place in and around central London as their team attempts to discover into what crime, if any, they have stumbled by accident.
A kidnap followed by a ransom demand leads to a dramatic chase on the river Thames involving stolen cruisers. A bungled police operation and lack of forensic evidence frustrate the two detectives as they seek logical answers to a series of seemingly unrelated events. As the mystery unravels they realise that some highly professional criminal activity is taking place, leading their enquiries to northern France.
When two suspects are assassinated in St. John’s Wood and Primrose Hill, a murder hunt ensues in tandem with their ongoing investigation. Further revelations indicate the awesome possibility of a potential bio-terrorism threat, resulting in personal problems for both the inspector and his sergeant.

The Courier seeks to create a visual drama in the mind of the reader. Many people today are conditioned to absorb crime thrillers through the medium of DVD, video or TV, often based on existing novels or contrived scripts. The Courier reverses this trend; it is a visual experience in words.

About the Author
During the 1990’s the author was responsible for producing management development
training scenarios for an international company, a role which took him to various locations
throughout England, France and the Czech Republic. This experience was influential in his decision to take up writing and to incorporate some of his creative ideas in his material.
Now living in France, he wrote his first crime fiction novel, The Courier, using his knowledge of London and northern France as an inspiration for the storyline. His second novel, Killer Butterfly, was produced as a prequel to The Courier, linked by featuring the same two detectives in both books. His third novel, Animal Instinct, will be completed in 2009.
During this recent period he has also written a children’s story, Goose.
